Marketing + policy = behavior change.
Delaware Office of Highway Safety
Do you like being told what to do and when to do it? No, not many people do. And that’s what can make behavior change difficult. So when The Office of Highway Safety came to us with their policies to curb aggressive driving and drunk driving, and encourage pedestrian safety, we knew it would be challenging.
But we’re always up for a challenge here. Especially one that could make the roads safer. So we set to work. We developed a strategy to run all marketing campaigns at the same time as police officers were out there enforcing the Office of Highway Safety’s policies. Combining marketing with new policies and the law enforcement’s highly visible presence helped drive the behavior change we were looking for.
With research-driven creative we crafted our messages in English and Spanish. We used a variety of traditional and nontraditional media, from PR initiatives and mirror clings to ground decals and online quizzes. Some of our tactics even made national news, expanding our reach and increasing awareness.
