IPC: The Hospitalist Company

The challenge

IPC is the premier hospital-based medicine provider in the country and employer of choice. Its reputation for advanced care and quality of practice attracted the best and the brightest candidates — as well as many lacking the stellar skills and leadership abilities IPC coveted.

The solution

We began updating IPC’s recruitment messaging by reviewing its history and interviewing key recruiters and senior management. This helped us define the ideal IPC hospitalist. We also did an analysis of the competition to define what set IPC apart. Two things emerged from our research: the outlaw mentality of the organization and the entrepreneurial spirit of the hospitalists who join it. Our new look and messaging promised that the right candidate could achieve whatever he or she aspired to within IPC.
